What is NanoSpec AI?

NanoSpec AI is Rhei BioTech’s flagship platform in development for intelligent single-particle analysis and sorting. It integrates microfluidic handling, optical detection, real-time signal processing, intelligent analysis and active sorting or manipulation within one developing instrument architecture.

Why particle-level insight

A population average can hide the biology inside it.

Bulk measurements remain useful, but they can compress a heterogeneous population into one value. NanoSpec AI is being developed for questions that benefit from retaining individual-event information.

Population / ensemble vs individual eventsConcept illustration

Schematic spread and subgroup / No measured values or experimental data are represented.
01

Distributions, not only centers

Retain a view of population spread instead of reporting only a central value.

02

Rare or distinct events

Frame questions about low-abundance groups that may be less visible in pooled signals.

03

Event-linked action

Connect analysis with a developing path toward selective sorting or manipulation.

Development intent

What is NanoSpec AI being developed for?

NanoSpec AI is being developed to analyze individual particle events, process optical signals in real time, interpret heterogeneous populations and enable active sorting or manipulation. Intended application areas include lipid nanoparticles, extracellular vesicles, adeno-associated virus and biopharma R&D or CMC research.

01

Analyze individual events

Preserve particle-level information rather than reducing the complete population to one pooled value.

02

Process signals in real time

Connect optical event detection with immediate processing inside an integrated instrument workflow.

03

Interpret population structure

Support intelligent analysis of heterogeneity, distributions and relevant subpopulations.

04

Move from insight to action

Develop a path from analysis toward active sorting or manipulation of selected events.

How does NanoSpec AI work?

At a high level, NanoSpec AI is designed to move individual events through a controlled microfluidic path, detect optical signals, process those signals in real time, apply intelligent analysis and trigger sorting or manipulation when appropriate. The complete workflow remains in development.
